Custom Scattered Pathways Diamond Earrings in 18k Yellow Gold

PROCESS: This client lives between Berkeley, Paris, and New York and she has events she needs to be dressed up for often. She wanted a fancy pair of earrings that she could wear for these occasions. We came up with these. They are elegant, organic, sparkly, and will be a show-stopper when she gets dressed up.
We used her diamonds for this project. For the posts, gold was melted into balls and shaped to set the diamonds. The bottom part of the earrings was cut out of a thick sheet and shaped to give it softer edges and a more sculptural quality. Then the smaller diamonds were individually flush set to create a pattern to make the diamonds feel like they were floating upwards.
