Custom Hematite Beaded Cuff Bracelet in Oxidized Silver and 18k Yellow Gold

PROCESS: This piece was made for a client who had an idea for a large cuff with multiple strands of hematite. We modeled the texture off of April Higashi's Topography textured series. The large hinge was carved from wax, cast in silver with diamond mackles cast in place. Silver brilliant diamonds were added to balance the stones and give it some subtle sparkle. The 18k gold hinge pin was added to give it a touch of gold. The hinge and the side walls for stringing were fabricated and then the laborious stringing process began. Three people worked on this piece, including multiple client visits to get all the elements and fit right.
