Raissa Bump

Raissa Bump received a BFA in metals from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2003 and studied jewelry with Giampaolo Babetto at Alchimia in Florence, Italy. She has actively been involved in the contemporary jewelry field since graduation and is skilled at making both intricate one-of-a-kind pieces and beautiful edition collections. Raïssa exhibits nationally, teaches workshops at Penland, Haystack, and Arrowmont, and is co-chair of the board of Art Jewelry Forum. Raissa currently lives and works in San Francisco, CA.

Raissa’s jewelry focuses on details, subtle beauty and unusual combinations. She finds herself pulled towards the way humans express themselves, especially the non verbal ‘voice’ and how those inner worlds are expressed in outward ways to create beauty. Jewelry fits quite wonderfully into that, as it continues to delight and surprise.
