Mew Chiu approaches jewelry-making and enameling with a background in sculpture, printmaking and ceramics. She has studied at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and the Jewelry Center at the 92nd Street Y in New York City, where she currently lives and works.
Mew designs and fabricates jewelry with precious metals and gemstones using ethical and environmentally friendly practices. All the work is fabricated by her or designed through the lost wax casting process. Her current collection of jewelry and enamel tiles is informed by her attraction to organic and botanical forms with an eye toward paring them down and finding the most essential of elements.
